Thanks to its qualified team and partnerships, CoRe can effectively bridge practice and research. In my experience, this is the only possible way to effectively foster innovation and support practitioners and land rights defenders in the field.

Andrea is strategic advisor for Deutsche Welthungerhilfe’s Land for Life initiative, a program fostering multi-actor partnerships in the field of land governance and agricultural investments in four African countries (Burkina Faso, Liberia, Ethiopia and Sierra Leone). Following work in post-conflict Democratic Republic of the Congo in 2003, Andrea has spent the last 18 years in the international development sector, studying and working on food security and land governance issues. He has coordinated global programs for the International Land Coalition (ILC), including a collaborative global research program on land acquisitions (The Commercial Pressures on Land Initiative). He helped to conceive and develop ILC’s overall country engagement approach, the National Engagement Strategies. Overall, Andrea has supported the establishment of approximately 30 national multi-stakeholder platforms globally on land governance. He has worked closely with civil society actors, international NGOs, grassroots organizations, research institutions, and UN and government agencies, promoting knowledge, capacity building and policy dialogue at national, regional and global levels. Andrea holds a Master’s degree in Human Development and Food Security from Roma Tre University. He loves photography and photo reporting and is strongly committed to social justice and human rights.
