CoRe’s approach, evidence-based and context-specific, addresses environmental governance at multiple levels. Pragmatic and proactive, CoRe’s work demonstrates that the mindful collaboration of stakeholders can yield meaningful results.

Apoorva leads CoRe's program engagement in India, including collaborations with the Promise of Commons initiative anchored by Foundation for Ecological Security and the Common Ground initiative anchored by Living Landscapes. She specializes in learning, monitoring, and evaluation, stakeholder mapping, analysis and consultations, capacity building, and design and adaptation of programs and initiatives. Hailing from Chennai on the south-eastern coast of India, Apoorva had the opportunity to accompany her mother on a project documenting relief and rehabilitation work along coastal regions in South Asia in the wake of the 2004 tsunami when she was very young. This experience sprouted the seeds that would eventually turn into a keen interest in studying questions at the intersection of environment, economy, and society. She has a Master’s degree in International Economic Policy from Sciences Po Paris and a Bachelor’s in Psychology, Sociology, and Economics from Christ University, Bangalore. Her experience includes research in behavioral economics, environmental policy and sustainable development, including prior work with the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) South Asia. These have helped her recognize the importance of an evidence-based multidisciplinary and systems approach when tackling contemporary issues, firmly rooted in people’s lived realities.
