Randolph is focused on coalition-building partnerships in Guatemala, program development in Latin America more broadly, and cross-regional comparative analysis. He brings over a decade of experience in research, consulting, and facilitation to address complex sustainable development challenges. He recently served as a research assistant to the CGIAR Initiative on Climate Resilience, helping to develop participatory climate adaptation strategies that support smallholder farmers in Guatemala and Kenya. Earlier work with CGIAR’s Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security program as a participatory scenario planning facilitator, supported multi-level foresight workshops throughout Central America to advance climate-smart agriculture and build resilient food systems. Randolph’s expertise spans food systems, sustainability and climate justice, strategic research, network governance, participatory foresight, urban environmental management, and sustainable urban development. He holds a B.A. in Political Science (University of Costa Rica), an M.A. in Latin American Social and Political Studies (Universidad Alberto Hurtado, Santiago de Chile) and a M.A. in City & Urbanism (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, Barcelona). In addition to his research roles, he is a tenure-track Professor at the University of Costa Rica, where he teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in political science, urban sustainability, and environmental governance.
