CoRe’s approach to multi-stakeholder dialogue is distinctive and innovative. From my own experience working from local to regional levels, I know that participation of public, private and civil society organizations can create solutions to the interlinked challenges of resource competition and conflict, working towards sustainable resource management and resilient livelihood systems.

Shree leads new partnership outreach in South and Southeast Asia at CoRe. With over 14 years of professional experience in the fields of agriculture and food security, climate change and environment, climate smart agriculture, human rights and indigenous peoples’ rights, rural institutions and rural development. His work has spanned South and Southeast Asia, with particular focus on Thailand, Nepal, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, India and Bangladesh. He completed his Ph.D. in International Cooperation Studies at Hiroshima University’s Graduate School of International Development and Cooperation. Shree belongs to the Newar Indigenous Nationality in Nepal, and his personal experience is the foundation for a deep motivation to work for the most marginalized and vulnerable communities, including indigenous peoples and ethnic minorities. Earlier, he served as Program Coordinator and later as Deputy Secretary General with the Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP), based in Chiang Mai, Thailand. In addition to his work with CoRe, Shree supports the World Bank’s engagement with indigenous peoples on natural resource governance in Nepal, and supports the National Indigenous Disabled Women Association Nepal, as an Advisor on capacity building and promotion of women’s rights and recognition. Drawing upon his applied experience, Shree has published multiple papers in international journals including Climate and Development, Development in Practice, and Ecology, Development and Sustainability.
