CoRe’s approach of addressing environmental resource governance by convening stakeholders at multiple levels in meaningful dialogue, leading to actionable solutions and systems change is exactly the kind of perspective we need to solve intersectional social issues and conflicts, and it inspires me to be a part of such a unique collaboration.

Tarita works on strategy and partnership development for CoRe’s global engagements, focusing on current partnerships in India as well as scoping new partnerships across geographic regions. Tarita has experience developing climate and gender justice programming, including a prior role as program and operations manager with Women’s Earth Alliance. She has worked with partners in India, Indonesia, Kenya, Uganda, and Nigeria, among others. Her work allowed her to develop insight into the complex nature of various social justice issues, often linking them to the climate crisis, as well as the need for intersectional solutions to these issues. Her work on climate and urbanism projects in diverse communities have allowed her to focus on grassroots organizing and participatory community engagement projects geared towards building resilience and adapting to a changing environment. She has a Master’s degree in Urban Strategy and a Bachelor’s in Environmental Studies & Sustainability, both from Drexel University, Philadelphia. Tarita was selected in 2023 as a fellow of Atlas Corps, the network of global changemakers, and is jointly sponsored by the American India Foundation.
